After the extraordinary success of the exhibition “LEGO Coliseum” of 2012, the “Brickman” Ryan McNaught has made of Lego one of the most representative architectural monuments of ancient Greece, the Acropolis of Athens.
The LEGO model represents the Acropolis in two versions: as it appeared in the eyes of the ancient Greeks in the fifth century bce and admired today as the millions of tourists from all over the world come to Greece to visit this masterpiece of classical Greece. Within the model it is possible to recognize some of the most famous visitors of the Acropolis including Pericles, Lord Elgin, Dame Agatha Christie, and even Elton John.
In the exhibition you can also see a plaster model of the Acropolis Museum which is the building as it was in 1895.
The exhibition is hosted at the Nicholson Museum in Sydney and will be open from 30 June 2013 to 23 June in 2014.
